SPACE Patrons & Friends Studio Bursary in partnership with Chelsea College of Art awarded to Alaa Kassim in 2017
Alaa Kassim has been awarded the SPACE Patrons & Friends Studio Bursary in partnership with Chelsea College of Art (for the second time) and will have access to a free studio at Deborah House for 12 months.
SPACE Patrons & Friends Studio Bursaries are created to support exceptional artists at a crucial time in the development of their practice. Its aim is to reduce the impact of cost on success through provision of free workspace within a supportive studio environment.
Alaa graduated form MA Fine Art at Chelsea College of art in 2017 and recently moved into filmmaking as a way to hint towards the tensions that arise when a person is raised in a place that they do not feel completely at home in.
