Apply now to join SPACE in the Maker Mile!
During London Design Festival (19 - 27 Sep) the MAKER MILE will thrive with exhibitions, workshops, talks and events, with late night opening on the evening of Monday 21st September for Open Mile - an evening trail of workshops, open studios and activities.
The MAKER MILE is one square mile of open workshops, artist and design studios, fabricators, galleries, shops and businesses running along Mare Street between Bethnal Green and London Fields stations and will be mapped online at www.makermile.cc.
Open Mile will join the dots on the ground for this diverse, existing network of suppliers, makers and outlets so that local communities can discover the maker culture and resources open to them.
There will be involvement across the mile from: Open SPACE and CoLAB, takram design and engineering studio, RCA Design Products, Open Desk, East London Printmakers, Machines Room, LimeWharf and many more.
Keep an eye on the website for details and grab a hand printed, locally produced map to follow the trail.
Proposals are now being accepted for projects that showcase the maker community within the MAKER MILE: open studios, exhibitions, workshop tours and maker activities.
We are encouraging spaces to be open for London Design Week and then put on an activity for Open Mile on the evening of 21st September.
