Open Call: Bring Your Own Beamer

07 Dec 2015

Registration Deadline: Monday 7 Dec, 9am

SPACE and LUX are excited to announce the upcoming Bring Your Own Beamer (BYOB) event at SPACE (Mare Street) on Thursday 10 December, 6:30 – 9pm.

Started by visual artist Rafael Rozedaal, Bring Your Own Beamer (BYOB) is an international movement of DIY one-night-exhibitions where artists collaborate on site to create a moving image performance. BYOB events have been held in over 40 international cities.

The SPACE/LUX BYOB is open to all artists and filmmakers working in moving image. To participate in the upcoming event please register your details here. Spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and you will receive a confirmation & instructional email upon registration.

Electricity, extension cords and tables will be supplied. Participants will be responsible for bringing their own display equipment (laptop, dvd player, projector, etc) and setting them up. If your film has sound please consider that subtitles and/or headphones might be more appropriate as it may be hard to hear in the busy room.

Established by artists in 1968, SPACE provides affordable creative workspace and support programmes for artists: commissions, exhibitions, residencies and training opportunities. SPACE also delivers Learning projects for schools, young people and communities neighbouring SPACE studio sites.

LUX is a public arts agency based in London that exists to support and promote artists' moving image work, through distribution, exhibition, education, publishing and research.
