SPACE is a radical and innovative visual arts organisation putting art and creativity at the heart of everything we do.
This is a fixed-term post for 4 months to manage the final stages of an established programme supported by ERDF to assist in the growth of creative art businesses and sole traders in London. This is a successful programme that has exceeded the majority of its targets to date. The job is key to the success of the programme by providing high quality support to enable a consortium of four arts organisations SPACE, Four Corners, Cockpit Arts, Photofusion to deliver and report back to ERDF on their joint initiative New Creative Markets (NCM).
The Programme Manager is responsible for the efficient day-to-day organisation and maintenance of the NCM programme, which aims to assist creative SME’s access new markets and trading opportunities. They will collect, record and process a range of project documentation, grant claims and output evidence, using established systems as well as managing relationships with partners. This requires running efficient systems, requiring a person who excels at accurate data collection and checking, meeting deadlines and meticulous attention to detail.
Additional responsibilities include compiling reports for the evaluation and assisting with the bid writing for future programmes.
Skills, experience and knowledge:
Applicants will have recent experience of working on ERDF programmes, and setting up, managing, and working with ERDF reporting systems. The Programme Manager needs to have good IT skills – in particular word processing, spread-sheets, database management and use of social networking.They need to have a good understanding of finance systems and a systematic approach to handling and recording grant claims and all supporting evidence.
They need to be a good communicator and have a confident manner with the ability to handle communications with a variety of contacts. The ability to work on their own initiative is essential as is the ability to provide effective and efficient administration.
A good standard of education is needed, and an understanding of challenges faced by creative small businesses.
