There are two new fixed-term posts to join the LCN team as a mentor delivering the programme for visual artists at SPACE:
1 x Art Production Mentor - focussing on practical production and process application
1 x Art Market Mentor – focussing on dissemination, context and placement
London Creative Network (LCN) is SPACE’s new artist development programme. Run by SPACE with Cockpit Arts, Four Corners and Photofusion, LCN will support over 400 creative practitioners within crafts, design, photography and the visual arts to develop their portfolio of products and services.
The programme delivered by SPACE will assist visual artists to realise a project using innovative technologies or new-to-the-practice processes. The emphasis will be on developing new products and services leading to the sustainability of the practice. The programme will be delivered as a combination of free workshops, 1-2-1 mentoring sessions, peer critiques and a talks programme. The post holders will support the Artist Development Manager by delivering tailored 1-2-1 support and workshops to artists registered on the programme.
SPACE is one of the UK’s leading visual arts organisations providing affordable workspace for artists and creative businesses in London. The first London studio provider, founded by artists in 1968; its 18 sites currently provide studios for over 700 artists. A further 700 artists are supported through innovative programmes in Media Arts, Exhibitions, schools and community, Professional Development and International Artist Residencies, all encouraging the prosperity of artists and the creativity of communities local to SPACE buildings.
