“I’ve been wanting there to be an art space [in Ilford]… I’ve lived here more than 20 years. I’ve talked to the council, and they’ve obviously listened. Everybody needs a safe space to produce art, especially with what’s going on in the world. I think everyone on the course has said how wonderful it is to have such a lovely space.” Workshop participant, Pauline Stewart.

Local Redbridge residents, who took part in a series of creative workshops run by Joanne Tyler, talk about the benefits of working collaboratively with an artist to co-create the exhibition Lighthaus which is currently on in the gallery at SPACE Ilford until 18 Jan 2023.
