Urban Voices 2018
Keeping the focus on their own experiences, this year’s Urban Voices participants explored how to express themselves through model making and claymation, virtual reality and dance.
They visited SPACE’s studios and worked with artist Wilfrid Woods to make Plasticine models and characters. They then used claymation stop motion techniques to make their own films with animator Stephanie Griffiths.
The second part of the project focused on virtual reality using HTC Vive and GoogleTilt Brush, which lets you paint in 3D space with virtual reality. The young people choreographed dance moves with Studio Wayne McGregor and worked with Pierre Vella to incorporate their 3D artwork into short films.
