The event is now live on the website here, You can find all the dates, times and locations of the various open studio events here. We will keep adding to this page so if you would like to share images of your studios to help publicise the event both here and on social media, please email jpegs (max file size 5MB) to openstudios@spacestudios.org.uk

E-Flyers

An E-flyer was sent to all artists in the first week of August – please share with your contacts and on your social media account to help us spread the word. If you did not receive your flyer, please contact emma@spacestudios.org.uk.

Flyers

15,000 flyers will be distributed in key locations (bars, cafes, cultural venues) around the studios by London Calling flyering agency from 16 August, in time for the bank holiday weekend.

E-newsletters

An invite to Open Studios will be sent to our General mailing list (14k subscribers) in the September newsletter which is published on Thursday 29 August.

Organising the event

Many buildings have successfully set up WhatsApp groups to help coordinate their event. If you would like to volunteer to help organise your studio building, we can send a message to all artists in your building to help put you in touch with each other.

Signage for buildings

SPACE will provide 2 giant posters for the outside of each building taking part, with the dates and times for your building. These are being supplied along with internal signs directing people to studios, and indicating exits and toilets, and bunting and will be delivered to the post area by the Studios Team over the coming days.

Door staff

You will need to book 2 people for each entrance – SPACE will pay £12/hr per door staff. Please ask them to invoice SPACE (at openstudios@spacestudios.org.uk) after the event.

Fire marshals

Each building, depending on its size, will need between 1-3 fire marshals on duty throughout the event. This is not an onerous task, but is necessary in order for your building to open safely to the general public. Please email the name(s) of your designated fire marshal(s) to openstudios@spacestudios.org.uk. SPACE will then arrange for a member of the Studios Team to come and brief you before the event.
