SPACE Charitable Aims
SPACE is a registered charity, and was founded by artists Bridget Riley and Peter Sedgley in 1968.
Our mission is to make space for art. In addition to providing studio space, we are committed to helping artists make a living from their work, and to increasing public access to the visual arts.
Our formal charitable objects are: ● to foster, promote, advance, maintain and improve public education and to promote interest in and appreciation of all forms of art ● to aid, assist and educate necessitous artists ● to promote and improve art and the production of objects of artistic merit.
If successful in registering with us and taking a studio do you agree to participate in activities that help us to achieve these aims? Activities could be Open Studios, running workshops with schools and young people, hosting visits to your studio etc.
