SPACE Patrons & Friends Studio Bursary in partnership with the RA Schools awarded to Gery Georgieva in 2016
Gery Georgieva has been awarded the SPACE Patrons & Friends Studio Bursary in partnership with the RA Schools and will have access to a free studio at Deborah House in Hackney. The bursary runs until September 2017.
The bursary was created to support exceptional artists at a crucial time in the development of their practice. Its aim is to reduce the impact of cost on success through provision of free workspace within a supportive studio environment.
Gery Georgieva (b. Varna, 1986) recently completed her postgrad diploma at Royal Academy Schools, London. Her work encompasses performance, multimedia installations and musical collaborations (under her stage name Vera Modena). Often constructed and filtered through multifarious layers of digital appropriation and mainstream manipulation, Georgieva examines how we configure and reconfigure our sense of cultural identity.
