Let’s light up Ilford!

July – Sept 2022
Free & open to 55+
SPACE Ilford

Join artist Joanne Tyler for a series of print-themed workshops from July to September 2022, which will culminate in an exhibition in the gallery at SPACE Ilford funded by The Mercers’ Company.

Participants will learn and experiment with a range of techniques in a series of easy yet exciting processes, exploring light installation, Japanese shibori tie-dyeing, printmaking, fabric design, lit paper cuts, illuminated window arts and small sculptural forms using recycled paper.

The concept behind the workshops is to encourage sharing and togetherness through print by looking at aspects of what gives us hope in an ever-changing world.

The art created from the workshops will be united for our next exhibition at SPACE Ilford, opening on 11 October 2022 which will include large artworks and interactive light installation, co-created and designed by community members and the artist Jo Tyler, expressing the social connections made during the time together.

These weekly sessions for Redbridge residents aged 55+ will take place at SPACE Ilford and via Zoom. The workshops are suitable for beginners. All materials are provided.
