Permacultures #12: Rehana Zaman

In conjunction with Studio Voltaire and the Jo Spence exhibition, SPACE is supporting Rehana Zaman to develop a new work based around Jo Spence's workshops.

Working alongside groups of people from The Macmillan Centre at Kings College Hospital and Body and Soul Charity, Rehana Zaman will develop a series of workshops to consider the constructs of illness and disease. Drawing on exercises and activities from theatre, the gathering of the group will also be explored as an inquiry into power dynamics and collaborative practice in general.

Rehana Zaman (b. 1982) examines the possibilities for agency within social structures; inventing fictions, isolating historical moments and drawing on personal accounts, to convey how a set of relations might be embodied. Recent exhibitions include The Red Mansion Art Prize at the Royal Academy of Arts, Other People’s Problems at PSL [Project Space Leeds], Of Many One, Scaramouche Gallery, New York and Resovision at Frieze, London. Forthcoming exhibitions include We Love You at Limoncello and The London Open at the Whitechapel. Rehana completed her MFA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College in 2011. She lives and works in London
