Vandalism, Politics and Public Art: The Canals Project seminar day

The Canals Project (Street Art for the Waterways) presents a full-day of discussion and interaction exploring Hackney borough’s rich graffiti and street art heritage and some of the wider issues regarding the global street art phenomenon.

Join alongside artists, academics, enthusiasts and performers from across the creative world to share your views on art in the surrounding area as well as some of the key issues regarding commissioned and un-commissioned public art today.

Participants include Iain Borden, Slawek Czajkowski, ZBIOK, Ian Cox, Bob and Roberta Smith, and Lina Khatib.

The Canals Project is commissioned by The Legacy List and is one of the first projects to benefit from a new corporate partnership with Bloomberg LP, and as part of a creative partnership with Canal & River Trust.
