Artist Open Studios

Open Studios have taken place annually at many studio sites, self-organised by the artists. In the 1980s these often had substantial sponsorship and published catalogues. A number of these were held in association with the Whitechapel Gallery and the Whitechapel Open Exhibition. Often several studio buildings come together for joint promotion, for example London Fields Artists 1986, 25th anniversary Open Studios in 1993 and 30th anniversary Open Studios in 1998. London Fields Artists: An Open Studios Exhibition by SPACE Artists Catalogue documents the richness and variety of work produced by the artists in Martello Street, Richmond Road and Victor House studios in 1986. East End Open Studios 1992 in Association with the Whitechapel Gallery included Lea Bridge Road, Milborne Street, Ravenscroft Studios and Victor House.
