Artists Programme # 2: Laura Oldfield Ford
Through the Planned Cities Fires Will Rage
In its second year, The Artists Programme provided Year 10/11 students with a unique opportunity to create an installation with artist Laura Oldfield Ford.
Participants took part in practical workshops which will result in a public exhibition. Sessions also included visits to University of the Arts London and SPACE’s Sara Lane studios, where students will meet with successful creative enterprises.
Pupils who took part this year were from Warren Comprehensive and Barking Abbey School. The programme took place in the vast 4,350 sq ft ground floor of The Malthouse.
Laura Oldfield Ford lives and works in London. She studied at the Slade School of Art and completed her MA Painting at the Royal College of Art. She has exhibited extensively including at Rokeby and Hales galleries in London, Savage Messiah takes over Late at Tate Britain, The Arnolfini, Bristol and the Goethe Institute, New York. She has also recently been commissioned by International Art Review. She is represented by Hales Gallery.
