Daniel Lehan

20 April 2011

Daniel Lehan has explored the meaning of memory and stories being passed down where each telling subtly changes the original and authenticity becomes unstable. Daniel collaborated with 40 children from Gainsborough School (link) and together they have produced a number of text-based works handwritten on boards, which will be exhibited in a variety of locations. Inspired by the notion of Chinese Whispers, Lehan has produced When Whispers Become Rumours a series of newspaper headlines reporting ‘incidents ‘ in Hackney Wick, and the Map Of The Underground Caves Of Hackney Wick.
