Piers Secunda, From the ashes – raising funds for the Xingu Indigenous reserve

Piers Secunda’s artwork Smoke in the jungle, (Amazon Rainforest charcoal ink on paper 2023) is up for sale at Christie’s auction house, London in their Post-War and Contemporary online auction, which is open now and closes at the end of 12 March. The painting is made with an ink that’s produced from the ash and charcoal remnants of fires in the Amazon rainforest.

The sale raises funds for the Xingu Indigenous reserve, so that the Xingu community can purchase a firetruck to put out fires started by farmers and illegal logging. To learn more about the fundraiser, which has been organised by Migrate Art, CLICK HERE.
