Susanne Dietz, We go in circles and tonight consumed by fire

Susanne Dietz’s short film We go in circles and tonight consumed by fire is featured in Southwark Park Galleries Annual Open 2024.

In the film, a woman tells us that it’s not supposed to rain, then vanishes into a flickering, wet screen. Hands dig into the soil, placing berries and objects while ndistinct rings of light and drops hover, blurring the boundary between the seen and the sensed. Viewed as if from beneath the earth’s surface, a strange creature appears.
