SPACE was appointed as main provider for South East Creative, Cultural and Digital Support [SECCADS] in February 2019. With SPACE leading on the branding it was shortened to South East Creatives.

SPACE delivered on the Workshops + Mentoring business development programme supporting freelancers, sole traders and growing businesses working in Essex, East Sussex or Kent. The programme was for creative, cultural or digital businesses looking to cultivate their skills and broaden their professional network. Businesses could opt for one of the following programmes:

South East Creatives Workshops + Mentoring Programme offered two days of workshops at our cultural hubs Creative FolkestoneDe La Warr PavilionResort StudiosTowner Eastbourne and across various cultural venues in Essex. In response to the Coronavirus pandemic the programme was seamlessly moved online to offer webinars, talks and group sessions. Mentoring was also available to businesses that attended a minimum of 12hrs of workshops both on and offline. This tailored mentoring matched each business with an industry expert to address the most pressing topics of their business.

In September 2020, a week-long programme was organised to support new music businesses, Music Business Launchpad 2020 with Remi Harris MBEAnna Moulson and an amazing line-up of music industry experts. The Get Go Programme 2020 with Uday Thakkar, Red Ochre was designed to help new creative businesses get off the ground during COVID-19.

The Workshops + Mentoring Programme gave creative businesses workable strategies to support them in running a more resilient and successful business – especially during these trying times. They were delivered by SPACE and ran from September 2019 to September 2020.

Legacy
SPACE delivered more than 20 hours of online webinars, 10 days of workshops, more than 200 hours of individual mentoring and 125 hours of accountability sessions.

South East Creatives [SECCADS] was part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund Programme 2014 to 2020. The Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government is the managing authority for the European Regional Development Fund Programme, which is one of the funds established by the European Commission to help local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support local businesses and create jobs.
