Breathing SPACE Bursary

An initiative to support and develop SPACE studio artists. Artists were selected each year and offered the opportunity of a 6-month studio rent break to pursue a project. Artists had to demonstrate why they needed a rent break, and how it would help them to achieve a specific outcome within their practice.

The selection criteria included:

– Quality of practice
– Quality of proposal
– Evidence of need

The selection panel included Rachel Fleming-Mulford, Curator Borough Road Gallery & Patricia Ellis, Writer and Curator.

The bursary was awarded to the following SPACE artists: Ben Cove, Dafna Talmor, Julian Perry, Saskia Olde Wolbers, Katriona Beales, Layla Curtis, Ben Judd, Caroline List, Evariste Maïga, Mimei Thompson and Zadie Xa
