SPACE Art + Technology, The Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki and the Saastamoinen Foundation are pleased to announce Josefina Nelimarkka as the first Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki alumni artist in residence.
Josefina Nelimarkka works across painting, writing and spatial positioning. Through her multidisciplinary and site-sensitive practice, she investigates matter, time and language as ephemeral qualities.
Drawing on her previous research, Josefina will be developing an interactive augmented reality application called Kairos2, which uses real time data to visualise air particles.
Her recent solo exhibitions include Kairos at Helsinki Art Museum HAM Gallery; Call I shall Listen at Fieldworks, London; yonder x return at Clearview, London; Between whiles that encounter at the Finnish Institute in London and Procession (screensaver) at Sinne, Helsinki.
