SPACE acquired these three blocks of flats for non-residential studios in 1980 – 1981 from the London Borough of Lewisham, following the loss of studios at the Old Mill, Lewisham. Lewisham has since provided a purpose-built studio on the Riverdale site, which has been developed, incorporating the Old Mill, which is to be a restaurant.
A residency has been funded jointly by the Arts Council of Great Britain and the Greater London Arts Association and the first artist in residence, Tim Jones, has been involved in organising the Norfolk House exhibition at Lewisham Concert Hall.
