Andy Singleton, Natural connections paper art workshops
A FREE course of 8 workshops for Redbridge residents aged 18+
This is a course that runs over 8 weeks on Tuesdays from 11.30am – 2.30pm on the following dates:
- 24 September
- 1, 8, 15, 22 October
- 26 November
- 3, 10 December
Join established paper artist Andy Singleton for a series of workshops exploring the potential of paper as a medium for expressing your ideas and creating beautiful artworks in a playful and fun way.
Over the course of 8 workshops, under Andy’s expert guidance, you will explore various techniques for working with paper to create both 2D and 3D artworks. Techniques will include paper cutting, scoring and folding, and wet folding paper to make sculptural objects.
During the course of the workshops, participants will also be encouraged to think about how they connect with the natural world on a day to day basis. This could be your garden, plants you keep and tend to, a beautiful tree, or birds you see in the park. These small moments are the ‘natural connections’ Andy wants to explore and express with you through the workshops.
The purpose of the workshops is to develop the skill of participants in the medium of paper, to develop your confidence in expressing ideas through the techniques explored and to work with and co-create elements that will make up part of Andy Singleton’s major exhibition at SPACE gallery launching in 2025.
All equipment and materials will be supplied.
