FREE, please RSVP here

Join Laura Yuile for an open discussion on her practice and around her research through her 3 months on the ThisTimeWithFEELing residency.

In today's context of diminishing boundaries between work and free time; public and private space, we will consider how the notion of wellbeing factors into this rapidly evolving reality. Considering how alternative methods of social engineering are implemented by corporations and individuals in order to develop effective branding and environments for increased productivity, wellbeing and success.  Furthermore, we will explore how screens and devices open up new windows in the work place or domestic sphere, and how this might be thought of in terms of its impact upon physical and psychological space.

The talk will incorporate selected video works and finish with a number of questions asked to the audience by the artist.

Laura's work incorporates sculpture, video and performance, functioning via dense layers of connections and transitions between different types of spaces: domestic, public, corporate, psychological and global. Collisions occur between the natural and the synthetic; notions of interiority and exteriority; the permanent and the perishable; the wholesome and the polluted.
