An exhibition of portraits created by Redbridge school students aged 7 – 18. Through an open call, students were asked to produce an original portrait, which could be either a self-portrait or of someone they admire, a family member, friend, public figure, or fictional character, inspired by one of the following artists

• Elizabeth Peyton
• Jenny Saville
• Kehinde Wiley
• Kenneth Lam (whose exhibition, A seat at our table, is currently on in the gallery)
• Lynette Yiadom-Boakye

SPACE was overwhelmed by the response to our first schools exhibition – 70 students from seven local schools have created stunning artwork in a variety of medium including drawing, photography, collage, pencil, charcoal, ink, watercolours and oil paints. Well done to everyone who took part!
