Lothar Götz, Colours and Diamonds

Mucciaccia Gallery is delighted to invite you to the opening reception of Colours and Diamonds, presenting a new body of work by Lothar Götz (1963, Günzburg). Conceived specifically for the gallery, this suite of paintings and drawings deepens the artist’s long-standing investigation into the relational dynamics of form and colour, distilling his language of geometric abstraction into a singular, potent motif: the diamond.

Used as a structural constant through which variation unfolds, each work adheres to the same geometric design, yet shifts in colour generate entirely different spatial and emotional experiences. Each composition operates both independently and as part of a broader chromatic rhythm across the gallery space.

In Götz’s hands, the diamond becomes a structure of perceptual possibility: intuitive, rigorous, playful. Though grounded in formal abstraction, his practice remains emotive-driven by colour as a responsive and expressive force.
