POSITIONS EXHIBITION / PHOTO LONDON 2026

As part of the Positions exhibition curated by Maria Sukkar, Leslie Hakim-Dowek will be showing a selection from my Twilight Island series. This series focuses on the complex and problematic relationship with the natural environment, and this has been a long-standing concern in Leslie’s practice. Here is an extract from the statement:

Twilight Island is a contemplation of a time spent on a volcanic island. [..] Within this brief reflective bracket lies the vast wilderness, an earthly stage on which generational rites and rituals come into being but to which, we remain oblivious to.
