Emma Prempeh: Alumno/SPACE Studio Bursary Winner 2020
SPACE is pleased to announce that Emma Prempeh is the winner of the Alumno/SPACE Studio Bursary for 2020. Emma works in large scale painting and mixed media and her work portrays the intangible aspects of the human experience, dealing with themes around time and space in the physical and literal sense. She has recently started experimenting with video, finding ways to incorporate film with her painting and playing with different techniques to extend her work beyond the canvas and wall. Emma says that her new studio space will give her the freedom to play around with materials on the canvas at a much larger scale.
Emma says: "Many graduating artists struggle with not having enough money and space to continue with their practice. I am extremely grateful to have this opportunity to use a studio at SPACE to develop my practice further, bringing me closer to my ambitions."
