Congratulations to Selena Chandler who has been awarded a studio at SPACE Colchester. Selena’s art is process and materials lead, and she responds to the materials found in particular locations. Selena works with found, recycled, and reused materials and gathers both those that are natural and those that are man-made. Selena’s process draws on hand skills such as basketry and stitching as well as language and expresses ideas and feelings about the relationship to place, consumerism, and noticing. Her work is often small – hand-held and textural. She is increasingly interested in slowness, structure, and repetition.
