Screening and Filmmaker Q&A

To coincide with Playback at SPACE, we’re screening a selection of short films made by young artist filmmakers. These films each explore the experience of contemporary life across London through animation, documentary and visual dreamscapes. For some of the films in the selection, this will be the premiere screening. Following the screening, join us for a Q&A with some of the filmmakers, chaired by Catherine Bray (Editor, Channel 4 Random Acts).

Catherine Bray
Catherine Bray is currently the Editor of Channel 4’s Random Acts series. Having previous worked for Film 4, Catherine has also produced the documentary features Beyond Clueless and Fear Itself, as well as shorts such as Fish Story and Blackout.

Sophia Yuet See (Reaching)
Sophia Yuet See is an artist from London, currently studying Art Foundation at Central Saint Martins. She is the co-creator of Sula Collective, a zine for and by people of colour.

Amir Hossain and Soren Harrison (A Girl’s Void)
Soren and Amir are a pair of teenagers in London who like making colourful things, making movies, and making their friends look cool.

Léna Lewis-King (Untitled Sequence)
Léna Lewis-King is a young visual artist and filmmaker who lives and works in London. As well as directing, she produces her own music for the soundtracks of her films and performs her music for live audiences. Léna directed Untitled Sequence.
